Audio Codecs

Formats that compress audio for wireless headphones (AAC, aptX, LDAC); they set max quality.

Also known as: aptX LDAC Bluetooth Codecs Codecs AAC

Full Definition & Technical Explanation

Audio codecs define how sound is compressed over Bluetooth — e.g., Audio codecs: AAC, MP3, WAV... (SoC decode) and aptX/LDAC for wireless transmission.

Higher-bitrate codecs (aptX Adaptive, LDAC) preserve more quality with compatible headphones. See Audio codecs in specs.
