[ GLOSSARY DEFINITION ] Performance

Integrated GPU

A GPU built into the CPU/SoC, sharing system memory — efficient but less powerful than a dedicated GPU.

Also known as: iGPU Integrated Graphics

Full Definition & Technical Explanation

Integrated GPU (iGPU) shares the CPU die and system RAM. Examples: Radeon 780M, Arc Graphics, Apple M3 GPU. It is power-efficient and fine for everyday use and light gaming.

For heavy gaming or 3D work, a dedicated GPU is required. See Integrated GPU in CPU/laptop specs.
