PWM Dimming

Pulse-width modulation used to dim OLEDs; low frequency can cause eye strain for sensitive users.

Full Definition & Technical Explanation

PWM dimming flickers an OLED's brightness at a frequency (e.g., 240 Hz, 1920 Hz). High PWM is comfortable; low PWM may cause headaches and eye fatigue, especially at low brightness. DC-like or high-frequency PWM is preferred.
