Unified Memory

A memory pool shared by CPU and GPU (Apple silicon); fast and efficient but fixed and un-upgradable.

Unified memory lets the CPU and GPU access one fast memory pool (Apple M-series, and increasingly Snapdragon X PCs). No copying between separate CPU/GPU RAM means better efficiency and bandwidth.

Downside: it is soldered, so you must choose capacity at purchase. Compare bandwidth, not just GB.
