Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra: Release Date, Rumored Specs & Price
Release window, camera-plateau design, 5,700 mAh battery, and price leaks
Samsung's next Ultra is expected in February 2027 with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, a bigger 5,700 mAh battery, and a controversial triple-camera redesign. Here's every credible leak so far — and what it means if you're holding an S26 Ultra.
Rumor status: Samsung has announced nothing. Everything below comes from leaks, certification filings, and supply-chain reporting as of October 2026 — details will change.
Expected release date
Samsung typically launches flagships in January or February. The Galaxy S26 series arrived February 25, 2026, so expect the S27 family — led by the Ultra — at a Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2027, with sales starting days later.
Design: the camera plateau
CAD leaks show Samsung dropping the individual floating camera rings for a unified raised camera plateau, a major visual break. Leaker chatter also points to a possible smaller S27 Pro sibling with no S Pen, mirroring Apple’s Pro/Pro Max split — treat that as unconfirmed.
Triple camera — and the 3x controversy
Multiple reports agree the rear array shrinks from four lenses to three: main, ultrawide, and 5x telephoto. The dedicated 3x telephoto is expected to go, with mid-range zoom handled by in-sensor crop from the 200 MP main sensor alongside an upgraded 50 MP 5x periscope.
Rumored specifications
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (2 nm, possibly a higher-clocked ‘for Galaxy’ bin), with an Exynos 2700 variant possible in some regions; 12 or 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM; 6.9-inch AMOLED display; 5,700 mAh battery with 60 W wired charging (Chinese 3C certification filings put the Ultra about 14% above the S26 Ultra’s 5,000 mAh cell); possible Qi2 magnetic charging support.
Expected price
Rising component costs point roughly 8% above the S26 Ultra’s $1,300 base — budget around $100 more, with larger bumps likely in Europe.
Should you wait?
Coming from an S25 or older: yes, the battery and chip jump look meaningful. On an S26 Ultra: the gains are incremental — skip a generation. We will update this guide as official teasers land.
