Ray Tracing

Hardware-accelerated realistic lighting and reflections in games, measured on CompareTech's Gaming score.

Also known as: RT Hardware Ray Tracing

Full Definition & Technical Explanation

Ray tracing simulates light rays for true reflections/shadows. Mobile GPUs from A17 Pro onwards and recent Adreno/Mali add RT units; desktop GPUs from NVIDIA RTX/AMD RDNA2+ support it.

See Ray Tracing: 10.8 Mpixels/sec and Gaming benchmarks Section 1: 40 FPS with RT on. It is demanding — DLSS/FSR help.
